Springtime arrives and here you are. You’ve been waiting.
Waiting all winter for this moment.
Brown and grey stripping away to reveal beautiful,
lush green. Earth is reborn. And you are reborn with it.
Life was like a prison for all those frigid months.
Parole awaits, and with it, freedom. Life begins anew.
The sun feels stronger. Colors seem brighter.
Are they really? Or is it all in your head?
It doesn’t matter. All that matters is the warmth
of the sun, the light that brightens the world.
You’ll have to go back to that freezing cave
in a few months, but until then, you’re going to
enjoy every minute,
reborn.
